250 Years of the United States Marine Corps
Tuesday, November 10th, marked 250 years since the founding of the United States Marine Corps.
Two and a half centuries of consistent excellence are the result of one principle: standards.
The Corps has succeeded because it defines what is required, enforces it without exception, and measures every Marine against the same expectations. There is no ambiguity, no personalization, and no negotiation. You meet the standard, or you don’t.
That approach works.
It builds competence, confidence, and resilience. It produces men and women who can be relied on.
The same principle applies outside the military.
Strength, health, and personal capability depend on clear standards—set, enforced, and lived.
The Marine Corps has shown the value of that approach for 250 years.
It still applies.
Happy Birthday Marines!
